Serra da pescaria
Serra Da Pescaria is located in a very green region and is a quite village close to sea. Do you prefer more action, no issue we are located exact in the middle (5min drive) of two touristic places, Saõ Martinho Do Porto and Nazaré.
In the south, Saõ Martinho Do Porto has a beautiful moon shaped bay and is protected for the waves, therefore extremely relax for smaller kids and parents to enjoy the sea. In high season the city is daily organizing activities. Around the bay one can find many good restaurants, pastelarias (coffee shops), ice cream parlor and all kind of shops…. all needs are served.
In the North we have Nazaré and is well known about Praia da Norte…. The place where surfers challenge the biggest surfed waves in the world (check YouTube). It has a long beach with many shops, restaurants some famous for its fresh fish and shops, pastelarias (coffee shops), ice cream parlor. You can find a special nearly vertical train that brings you to Sitió, the oldest part of Nazare, a scroll in the village will bring you to places with stunning views over the ocean and Nazare, you will be submerged in the special atmosphere and can find more restaurants and small shops.
Tasteful food is not automatically expensive and Portugal is the example. In the close region one can enjoy the Portuguese kitchen with fresh fish, solid meat dishes but, Belgian, Italian, English, Indian and other good kitchen are all at driving distance.
At the corner of our street, so walking distance, is a small but very recommendable restaurant where one can enjoy a daily meal for 6€ (3 different dishes). Look in the fridge the deserts are to die for. Wine can be served by glass or in ½ liter or a full Liter, don’t worry about the price just make sur you get home.

If you feel the need to challenge the perfect Portuguese waves… one can rent Surf Boards or can get some lessons in Nazarè, Baleal and Penische. Penische is hosting again a leg of the “World Surf League” on Oct 16-27 2018.
For the ones whom love walking, hiking and Biking Portugal is the place to be, all over the place are marked tracks, when reaching a place go to the Tourist Information and you will get a brochure of the local tracks. You can have a wonderful walk from the house down to Salgado Beach (the beach in front of the house) or all the way to Saõ Martinho Do Porto, all with a permanent view on the ocean... a unique experience.
For the kids there are action waterparks in Nazre, Penische and Porto do Mos.
In Lourinha was recently a Dinosaurs activity park opened a thrill for the kids.
As one of the oldest cultures the region and Portugal in general is submerged by culture, too much to list here. One can find a map in the Villa with things to see and surf the internet to find your liking.
Close by we have the following;
Alcobaça; the 900 year old monastery, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list, If you like this you can find more but different ones in Batalha, Tomar en Fatima. Also in Fatima one can find the Sanctuary.
Beach Cities in the region
Too many to list here but about a few;
Foz Do Arelho is a must see. One can make nice walks on the wooden walkways on the coast, play on the beach, our enjoy the food in one of the many beach restaurants.
Ericeira is a picturesque cost city to scroll through... with phenomenal views.
Baleal is very near to Peniche and is a small village on a small peninsula, One can walk around the peninsula and be close to the ocean…. Don’t forget your camera!
